Nyanza Tank Replacement Project

Project Type:
Capital Project
Project Status:
Completed
Location:
Nyanza Hill

Lakewood Water District has always endeavored to be a good neighbor while providing the highest quality water at the lowest rates possible.  Ensuring this high quality means we must consistently upgrade our system.

Built in 1961, the 440,000-gallon Nyanza Hill Storage Tank and Booster Station located at the corner of 127th Street SW and Rebecca Drive SW needs replacement due to age, increased storage requirements, and seismic deficiencies.  Lakewood Water District, in conjunction with RH2 Engineering, plans to build a 2-million-gallon, 85-foot high, 65-foot diameter, pre-stressed concrete reservoir and a new upgraded, booster pump station.  The current tank and booster station will remain on-line until the completion of the new tank and booster station, helping to ensure minimal service interruption.

We understand some of the temporary construction activities will be noticeable; however, we are hoping there will be little to no inconvenience to you or your neighbors.  Completing these projects will allow us to continue furnishing you high-quality water at the lowest practical cost.  We will keep you updated as to the progress of this project through our website.

As always, the District is interested in any concerns you may have.  Be assured, we will do everything within our power to address them, and we apologize in advance for any inconvenience this might cause.  If you have any questions, please contact me.
