To Our Customers

We would like to update you on our progress in keeping you fully informed regarding the District’s 50-year Replacement and Rehabilitation (R&R) Program.

We have reached out to you the last two years through our newsletters, our Annual Reports, and various local news media. We have also provided presentations at community service groups and other Lakewood organizations, along with a recent Open House at the District office. The purpose of all these has been our sincere and dedicated endeavor to explain and educate our customers on the need for replacing the District’s aging infrastructure and our plan to get it accomplished. We have sincerely appreciated all your feedback, along with your support of the District’s overall objective of providing reliable, safe, potable drinking water for you, your family, and generations to come.

Based on the comments, positive feedback, and support we have received, the District plans to proceed with its plan to implement the 50-year R&R Program beginning in 2014. You will see this plan, along with our new rate structure, reflected on your bills beginning in March 2014. You can go now to the Bill Calculator on our website to calculate your estimated bill.

The District has over 180 miles of water infrastructure needing to be replaced over the next 50 years. On our website, you will be able to identify the time and place of the next five years of construction activity, and we will continue these five-year forecasts as we go. We will also continue our past and present practice of letting you know well in advance when construction activity is coming to your neighborhood, reducing the inconvenience to you and your family as much as possible.

Lakewood Water District
